As the coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to spread throughout the world, we are pleased to make the Face Shields and donation to local hospital as well as medical personnel as giving back to society and support to our people in Taiwan.
The idea starts from the Chairman & CEO Wang, as he was seeing the Face Shields design shared from the Apple that inspired him the charity concept to use our PET plastic to make the Face Shields. Thanks to APPLE’s design sharing to inspire us. We moved quickly to mobilize our staff to make Face Shields in weekends, that was a time-consuming and laborious process.
South Plastic ( SPI ) will donate in total 100,000 sets of Face Shield in May 2020. 50,000 sets will be given to domestic medical personnel, institutions and the other 50,000 sets will be donated abroad through the Taiwan Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Before the vaccine appearing, we still need to keep social distance, often wash hands, and wear masks to protect ourselves and others.
